Liturgical and Art Environment

Purpose:  This is an ad hoc committee of the pastoral council to assist the pastor and leadership of the parish in promoting a prayerful, beautiful, and meaningful liturgy and environment in and around the church.

Responsibilities:  To help plan and design the decorations for every season including Lent, Easter, Advent and Christmas, as well as Ordinary Time and other special events.  To accomplish this, the committee  works closely with the pastor in understanding the expectation of the church regarding how the liturgy should be celebrated.  The committee meets at the beginning of the liturgical season to be informed about the meaning of the season and the calendar of the church.  Periodically, the chairperson might call a meeting to address a certain issue regarding the worship and environment around the church.

Gifts to Share:  Your Faith and your enjoyment of interior and exterior design, floral design, building/woodworking, sewing, or an art background is useful, but is not necessary.

Commitment:  Average of two to three hours monthly, with more time spent during the Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter seasons.  Planning meetings are scheduled every two to three months.  Many volunteers are needed to execute the ideas that have been planned.
